ROSE SIMPLE SYRUP
This post will show you how to make a delicious Rose Simple Syrup for a delicate, floral sweetener for your next latte, tea, coffee, lemonade or refreshing summer beverage.
Just three ingredients are needed to make this delightfully rosy simple syrup.
- 2/3 cup Organic Rose Petals - food grade
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup filtered or spring water
First, combine the dried roses, sugar and water in a medium saucepan/pot on the stove over medium heat. Stir to combine.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes. Turn heat down to keep at a simmer.
Remove from heat and strain syrup through a mesh strainer to remove rose petals. I made this batch while staying with a friend so a mesh strainer wasn't available. Let go of perfection and use what you have and enjoy sipping on rose petals.
Pour a tiny amount in your lemonade or use it to sweeten your tea or morning coffee. It is truly refreshing in lemonade or with sparkling water.
Store in a glass jar in the refrigerator and enjoy for up to two weeks.
That sounds delightful. Very refreshing.
